Selma Blair Takes To Instagram To Reveal That She Has MS

Selma Blair took to Instagram on Saturday to reveal that she has been diagnosed with MS. In the emotional post the 46 year actress talks about the struggles she has been facing, as well as took the time to thank for friends and family for all their help.

“I have #multiplesclerosis,” Blair said after describing the ordeal she had gone through getting ready for a shoot. “I am in an exacerbation. By the grace of the lord, and will power and the understanding producers at Netflix, I have a job. A wonderful job. I am disabled. I fall sometimes. I drop things. My memory is foggy. And my left side is asking for directions from a broken gps. But we are doing it. And I laugh and I don’t know exactly what I will do precisely but I will do my best.”

Blair revealed that she was diagnosed with the disease on August 16, before going on to thank her friends Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze and Jaime King for their support, as well as the cast and crew of her current Netflix project, Another Life. She also thanked her friend Elizabeth Berkley, who she says “forced” her to go see a doctor. “Biggest thanks to @elizberkley who forced me to see her brother #drjasonberkley who gave me this diagnosis after finding lesions on that mri. I have had symptoms for years but was never taken seriously until I fell down in front of him trying to sort out what I thought was a pinched nerve. I have probably had this incurable disease for 15 years at least. And I am relieved to at least know.”

Blair does want everyone to know though that is alright, and wants to give hope to others dealing with the disease. “I am in the thick of it but I hope to give some hope to others. And even to myself. You can’t get help unless you ask. It can be overwhelming in the beginning. You want to sleep. You always want to sleep. So I don’t have answers. You see, I want to sleep. But I am a forthcoming person and I want my life to be full somehow. I want to play with my son again. I want to walk down the street and ride my horse. I have MS and I am ok. But if you see me, dropping crap all over the street, feel free to help me pick it up. It takes a whole day for me alone. Thank you and may we all know good days amongst the challenges.”

Ariana Grande Gets Her First Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 Single With “thank u, next”

Ariana Grande has been in the news a lot lately thanks to her highly public split from Pete Davidson, and shortly after the split she released a new single called “thank u, next”. The song was meant as an ode to how her past relationships (to Davidson, Big Sean, Ricky Alvarez, and the late Mac Miller), affected her personal growth. The song quickly became a huge hit, and now it’s made its debut on the Billboard Hot 100 in the number one spot.

The 25 year old Grande has been releasing music for seven years now, and even though she’s had a very successful career so far, she never had a number one song on the American Billboard Hot 100 before. Once the new broke yesterday, Grande took to Twitter stating “yeeeeeee baby’s first number one”.

The single is meant to be the lead single from Grande’s upcoming fifth studio album, which is also named “thank u, next”. Billboard stated that the single was only the 32nd in the chart’s 60-year history to debut at number one, and the first such single by a female artist in three years. The last was Adele’s “Hello” in 2015. Grande is also the first solo female to top the chart since Cardi B did it in October of last year. The single also broke Spotify’s single-day record for the most streams for a song by a female artist with almost 10 million listens in a 24-hour period.

Grande’s fifth album hasn’t been given a release date as of yet, but is expected sometime soon.

Gerard Butler Posts Videos Of Home Destroyed By California Wildfires To Instragram

Gerard Butler may play a lot of tough guys and action heroes in film, but on Sunday when he posted videos of himself touring the destroyed remains of his home in California, you can’t help but see the softer side of him.

As Butler walked the remains of his property in the video posted to his Instagram story, he was close to tears. In one video the 300 star said  “Welcome to my home in Malibu” as he toured the charred remains. The videos showed how devastated he was by the California wildfire, and he took the time to salute the bravery of the firefighters battling the blaze. He wrote “Returned to my house in Malibu after evacuating. Heartbreaking time across California. Inspired as ever by the courage, spirit and sacrifice of firefighters. Thank you @LosAngelesFireDepartment.” He also added a link to donate money to those affected by the Woolsey fire that started last Thursday.

Butler wasn’t the only celebrity affected by the fire either. Kelsey Grammer’s ex-wife Camille lost her home, as did singer Robin Thicke. Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian were evacuated from the fire struck region, as was Lady Gaga. Caitlyn Jenner was luckier than her stepdaughters though, because her place was damaged, but not destroyed. Charlie Sheen was also desperate to locate his parents earlier this weekend when he couldn’t get a hold of them, but Martin Sheen eventually responded to let everyone know he was alright. Neil Young and Miley Cyrus also lost their homes.

Over 250,000 people have been evacuated because of the blaze, that has destroyed over 83,000 acres and 180 homes already and has a long way to go before being contained.

Netflix To Release Mowgli: Legend Of The Jungle Theatrically

Audiences have been wondering for a long time if Netflix would ever release their movies theatrically. After all some of their biggest hits would look phenomenal on the big screen. Earlier this year their film Outlaw King, which premieres on Netflix this Friday, opened TIFF, and looked great. Now it appears if they are starting to gauge how much interest there would be from fans of the streaming service to pay money to watch other films at the theatre instead of in the comfort of their own home.

Netflix announced yesterday that Andy Serkis’ Mowgli: Legend Of The Jungle would be making its way to theatres starting November 29.While at the moment it is set to be just a limited release in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and London, this could very well pave the way for future releases. The film is set to be launched globally on Netflix on December 7th.

Mowgli is a new take on the Rudyard Kipling classic The Jungle Book, and features a combination of CGI and live action. Rohan Chand plays Mowgli, with Andy Serkis playing Baloo the bear. It follows the young Mowgli as he tries to find his place in the world, and tries to decide whether he wants to stay in the jungle with his animal friends, or take his place among civilized men.  The cast also includes Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Benedict Cumberbatch, Freida Pinto, Matthew Rhys, and Naomie Harris.

If Mowgli is successful in its limited release, you can expect to see more Netflix films receive a similar treatment, or even given a wide release before heading to the streaming service.
