PARIS HAUTE COUTURE FASHION WEEK WRAP UP

As Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week comes to an end, we’re taking a haute minute to process some of the major fashion moments.

Viktor and Rolf titled their show ‘Fashion Statements,’ and with slogans like ‘No Photos Please,’ ‘I Am My Own Muse,’ ‘Sorry I’m Late I Didn’t Want To Come,’ and, ‘F* This I’m Going To Paris,’ spelled out across the voluminous and whimsical gowns, we can see why! These gowns may be our spirit animals.

A ruffle-filled bouquet of bold-hued gowns paraded at Valentino. But the real scene-stealer was supermodel Naomi Campbell (pictured wearing black), who closed the show.

It was a fashion circus (the theme of the show) at Dior with this sheer and multicolour striped romper, worn over a tattoo print unitard. That’s what we call bringing it in the big top.

This bold, acid green suit and matching wide-brimmed hat spotted (from a mile away) at Ralph Russo are to-die-for. But the gold, crystal snake belt…now that’s the stuff our fashion dreams are made of. Want!

Olivier Rousteing, Creative Director at Balmain, poses with his Couture Army. Crisp white, impeccably-tailored ‘uniforms’ with dramatic pearl-like details…where do we sign up?

Think pink! It was all about the BPD, also known as the big pink dress, at both Giambattista Valli (above) and Chanel (below).

Shop Toronto’s goop MRKT Online

You may recall (from scouring the Fashion News section of Real Style Magazine’s Summer Issue, obvs), that Canada’s first goop MRKT popped up inside Toronto’s The Hazelton Hotel (118 Yorkville Avenue) in June, making the rest of Canada slightly jealous. We want to shop with Gwyneth Paltrow, too (well, kind of)!

If you won’t make it to T Dot to peruse the shelves in-person before the temporary location closes on September 22 (so little summer left, so little time!), don’t fret. In partnership with Mastercard and Next Retail Concepts, you can now shop the racks (and shelves for beauty and home goods, too), at goop MRKT Toronto virtually in an interactive digital experience. Shop till you drop from the comfort of your living room (or at your desk in your office…we won’t tell), here.

We took a ‘look’ around and loaded our cart with some of our fashion favourites, below.

G. Label Mathewson Denim Jacket, $555

G. Label Martindale Seamed Bustier Dress, $835

G. Label Strappy Maillot, $395

G. Sport Funnel-Neck Pullover Windbreaker, $345

Copy Margot Robbie’s Blood Orange Dress

Image: Courtesy of @oscardelarenta Instagram.

Orange you glad Margot Robbie wore a blood orange, Oscar de la Renta gown, on the white carpet at the London premiere of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood? Reminding us how much we love that hue, Robbie, who plays actress Sharon Tate in the flick, stunned (insert fire emoji here) in the draped, silk chiffon, floor-length frock with a plunging neckline. So much so, that we started searching for a deep citrus one of our own!

Majorelle Abrielle Mini Dress, $259: The elasticized sleeves on this mini dress have a girlish feel. Wear it while it’s hot—as we squeeze in the last month of summer, of course!

BCBGMAXAZRIA Bow Tie Maxi Dress, $426: ‘Max’ out on our irresistible colour, with this maxi dress. Details like the bow at the bust and high front slit, make us want to try this on in the foreseeable future.

ASOS DESIGN Tall Cape Back Dipped Hem Midi Dress, $80: Like the one worn by our starlette, this light chiffon dress has a plunging neckline, but also comes with a side of flounce.

Shaycation X REVOLVE Grace Midi Dress, $285: Channel a little va va voom when you dress to impress your (orange) crush. Ruffles and front slit included.

Ted Baker Ellame Wrap Over Bodycon Dress, $227: Full sleeves and a wrap style in the front, make for one fash formula.

Copy Olivia Culpo’s Poolside Glam

Photo: Courtesy of @oliviaculpo Instagram.

Olivia Culpo went full extra mode for all of her swim fans during Miami Swim Week. Wearing a Versace belted cover-up, over a black one-piece with cut-outs, and finished with a shiny hairpiece, Culpo looked pool party ready (and glam). Get ready to hit the deck! We copied the look for you here—might as well make a few wardrobe waves of your own.

Black Diamante Hair Clip, $17: This blinged-out, rectangular hair clip takes your pool-ready hair from basic to bae. Bonus: clipping your locks at the side of your head is also a hair style of the moment.

Rococo Sand Orlean Maxi Robe, $612: The pops of metallic silver on this hot pink duster not only glimmer in the sun, but also lend to a more luxe look.

Tom Binns+ Regal Gems 3 Strand Necklace, $867: Three strands of diamond-like rhinestones are definitely better than one. What can we say? Putting on the pool glitz is always a must.

Pool Me Down Ruffle High-Leg Swimsuit, $30: Long live the one-piece…although, with a V-neckline, high-leg fit, and cut-out torso, this one is barely there. But technically still a onesie.

Rebecca Minkoff Shimmer Metallic Leather Belt, $79: Looping a belt on over your duster keeps it from opening as you stroll from one daybed to the next. Happy sunning!
