Our Top 5 Style Stars From The Golden Globes

Last night’s 76th Golden Globe Awards were all about recognizing the performances of Hollywood’s finest, but what about the fashion? Leave that to us! Here we chose our top 5 leading ladies in the category of looking ah-may-zing. And the style stars are…

Lady Gaga proved ‘A (movie) Star is Born,’ wearing a Tiffany Co. diamond necklace and earrings and couture Valentino. The Best Original Song – Motion Picture (for ‘Shallow’) winner’s periwinkle gown matched her pale blue hair, perfectly. Gaga delivered everything we want to see on a red carpet…bling, wow factor, and overall glamour from head-to-toe.

Regina King, who brought her son Ian along (love!), took the trophy for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in ‘If Beale Street Could Talk.’ She also received our style nod for her form-fitting, rose gold sequin, custom Alberta Ferretti gown. A winner and a shimmer! – can’t beat that.

Supermodel Irina Shayk looked like a golden goddess for the Globes in Versace. The sweetheart neckline and thigh-high leg slit are certainly figure flattering and accessorizing with Bradley Cooper is always a good idea.

Jamie Lee Curtis is stunning in all white everything. Curtis’ white hair beautifully complements her white long-sleeved gown and coordinating clutch purse. All in the details—we love the gown’s strong shoulders, sparkling silver embellishment, and centre slit.

Lupita Nyong’o looked flawless in a cobalt blue, fringed Calvin Klein gown and sparkling Bulgari jewels. But the real deal (literally) are the silver, platform shoes the actress wore from Aldo Shoes (the style is Leventer, for anyone wanting to grab a pair). That’s the ultimate high-low fashion moment.

Copy Mila Kunis’ Red Carpet Jumpsuit

Mila Kunis walked the red carpet for the premiere of her new movie Wonder Park (she is the voice of Greta in the animated film). But it’s what she wore that we want to voice (our opinion) over—talk about striking a stylish pose. Kunis’ David Koma Embellished Sweetheart Neck Jumpsuit was both masculine and feminine; a combination of casual cool, and girly glam. We created our own version of her look, with the pieces below.

Leah Alexandra Wing Ear Climbers in Moonstone, $175: Tuck your hair behind your ear (like Kunis did) to show off the gems in these angelic earrings.

Lovers + Friends Loyola Bodysuit, $132: This rosy, pink bodysuit, with its sweetheart neckline, is super versatile, especially as the temps start to rise. Wear it all summer long!

Ben-Amun Art Deco Crystal Brooch, $307: The crystal embellishments that run down the top half of Kunis’ jumpsuit add a bit of bling. DIY: pin on this retro-vibe brooch for a similar take.

Y.A.S Tailored Trouser with Elasticated Waist, $74: This cigarette pant has a boss lady feel, and creates a color-blocking effect when paired with the pink bodysuit above.

Zara Leather Heels, $90: There’s no match for a classic, powerful pump. Confidence included.

Pretty In Pink At The Screen Actors Guild Awards

It’s award show season in Lalaland! Last night the ‘red’ carpet may have been rolled out at The Shrine Auditorium for the 25th Annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, but ‘pink’ was the hue du jour. Here are some leading ladies who spent their evening, pretty in pink.

Emily Blunt, who won the SAG award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for A Quiet Place, dazzled in a sparkling, bubblegum pink Michael Kors gown with dramatic satin, ruffled shoulders. This look is what Hollywood glamour is all about.

The skirt of Gemma Chan’s one-shoulder Oscar de la Renta gown spoke playful volumes, with its layered pleated petals. Finishing touches to the Crazy Rich Asians star’s look included Harry Winston statement earrings and ring, and a swipe of Sulwhasoo Essential Lip Serum Stick in Sweet Pink.

Yara Shahidi + Fendi Couture = sugary pink perfection. Her sequined jumpsuit worn under a tulle dress with bejeweled collar also makes for a fast-track to the after-party (no need to change out of this fun and flirty ensemble).

HOT in hot pink, Laura Harrier donned a custom Loewe gown and multi-coloured Bulgari baubles. The draping, poofy sleeves are ultra-feminine and princess-like.

Glow actress Britt Baron opted for a delicate, rose pink ball gown that was cinched at the waist with a black ribbon. Glistening in Hearts on Fire diamonds, Baron joined her castmates in winning the award for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series.

Next up…the Oscars!

Bling It On At The Grammy Awards

The best dressed songstresses brought out the bling (and didn’t miss a style beat) at music’s biggest night—also known as the 2019 Grammy Awards! Sparkly gowns finished with luxe extras epitomized exactly what we hope to see on a red carpet…bling. And with that our winners are…

Lady Gaga is a staple on the awards season fashion circuit this year, with the acting and singing nods she’s pulling in for her role in the movie ‘A Star is Born’—not that we’re complaining. Last night Gaga had us gaga over her metallic silver, high shine Cèline gown and Tiffany Co. jewels (she was reportedly drowning in over 100 carats of diamonds!). Oh, and we should mention Gaga took home three trophies: Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Song Written For Visual Media for ‘Shallow,’ and Best Pop Solo Performance for ‘Joanne.’

Dua Lipa may have won Grammys for Best New Artist and Best Dance Recording for ‘Electricity’ with Silk City, but her sequinned, silver Versace gown with a sweetheart neckline, had us cheering the loudest. The long train of the dress paired with Bvlgari jewellery, was just the right mix of drama and decadence.

Before opening the show by performing her hit song ‘Havana,’ Camila Cabello was all that glitters in this fitted Armani Privé, pink gown. With long-sleeves, a high-neck and a cut-out back, this sparkly dress hugged Cabello’s figure perfectly. Harry Winston jewellery and Tamara Mellon heels ended the song (we mean, look) on a stylish note.
