Madonna Announces New Album

Madonna took to Instagram on Sunday to announce that a new album is on the way. Not only that, but the video clip also revealed some new music.

The album, called Madame X, will be her 14th stand-alone album, and it will feature Madonna on role of Madame X. Madonna describes her as “a secret agent traveling around the world, changing identity, fighting for freedom, and bringing light to dark places.” In the clip you see the Material Girl using a typewriter, while wearing several different, elaborate costumes. The song playing throughout the video features the lyrics “The thing that hurt the most was that I wasn’t lost.” She goes on to talk about all the different persona’s the character disguises herself as, including  “a dancer, a professor, a head of state, a housekeeper, an equestrian, a prisoner, a student, a mother, a child, a teacher, a nun, a singer, a saint, a whore, and a spy in the house of love.”

Madonna has said in the past that the new album’s music is inspired by Portugal, which is where she was happening to be living during the creation of the album. It’s been known since last year that new music was on the way from the 60 year-old singer, but until now there was no indication how soon that could be. Her last album was 2015’s Rebel Heart, which reached number 2 on the Billboard 200, and helped launch her $170 million grossing tour.

While there is no exact release date for the album as of yet, we suspect it will be soon, considering the amount of Instagram promotion went on over the weekend.

Justin Bieber Makes First Public Stage Appearance in Two Years At Coachella

It’s hard to believe that it’s been two years since Justien Bieber graced the stage, but the streak is no over as the Sorry hitmaker took the stage at Coachella this past weekend to be part of Ariana Grande’s closing set.

Grande made headlines last weekend by bringing out not only Nicki Minaj to be part of her show, but also NSync (minus Justin Timberlake). Fans were wondering how she was going to be able to top that performance, and when Bieber took the stage with her, they had their answer.

Although most of Grande’s performance was a carbon copy of the weekend before, bringing out Bieber was certainly different. “I wasn’t going to bring out any guests tonight,” the singer said during a pause after singing Break Free. “But my friend Justin Bieber came all the way out.”

Bieber had been spotted in the area over the weekend with his wife Hailey Baldwin, so his appearance wasn’t a massive surprise out of nowhere, but he hadn’t been scheduled to appear. A lot of fans were wondering if Bieber was actually singing either, and commented that his vocals sounded rather synthetic. The audience still loved it though, and took it in with screams of happiness.

“I had no idea I was going to be on a stage tonight,” Bieber said to the crowd. “No idea. I wore this fly outfit not knowing I was going to be on stage.” He followed it up with “I had to get my groove back, had to get my swag back, you know what I’m saying.” He also hinted that a new album was coming soon.

John Cusack Joins Gillian Flynn’s New Series Utopia

Gillian Flynn is no stranger to TV, after all last year’s Sharp Objects was a huge hit for HBO. Her latest project is called Utopia, and it’s based on the British series by the same name. John Cusack has never starred in a TV series however, but that’s about to change because he’s signed on for the upcoming Amazon show.

Utopia follows the story of a group of young adults who are online friends. After coming into possession of a cult, underground graphic novel leads them to believe that several conspiracy theories may be real, they are forced to not only avoid a shadow organization that is hunting them, but also to try and save the world.

John Cusack will star as Kevin Christie, a media-saavy doctor who wants to change the world through science. It will be the actor’s first every foray into television. He’s widely known for starring in such films as Grosse Pointe Blank, Being John Malkovich, Better Off Dead, Say Anything, and more. He was nominated for a Golden Globe for 2001’s High Fidelity.

Cusack joins a cast that already includes Rainn Wilson, Dan Byurd and Cory Michael Smith. Gillian Flynn is the executive producer and showrunner for the nine-episode series for Amazon.

Watch Jimmy Kimmel’s Game Of Phones Sketch

With the Game of Thrones phenomenon in full swing once again, everyone seems to be jumping on the bandwagon to try and get some of the ratings. Jimmy Kimmel Live! is no exception. On his show last night, the talk show host played a skit called Game of Phones.

In the sketch, cast members of the hit series got together to advertise a service called Game of Phones, where viewers can call their favourite cast members and ask them questions related to their characters. This of could would be useful after such a long layoff to help people remember what happened before. Or to even get a little more into their character’s heads. Just don’t go expecting to get a correct answer all the time. Sophie Turner, Lena Headey, Maisie Williams and more all made appearances.

When asked who killed Joffrey, Sophie Turner responded  “No one did, it turned out to be a bad clam.” Of course fans of the show know that it was actually Lady Olenna Tyrell. Lena Headey was asked what to do if someone has a crush on their brother, to which she responded  “Nothing, it’s illegal and immoral to act on those feelings. On the other hand, if he’s hot, go for it.”

The sketch even had a fake phone number, and stated that the calls cost $2.99 per minute or $5.99 per raven. Perhaps the funniest part of the sketch is when it shows that the actors are contractually obligated to man the phones for 20 hours a week, and to “cut George R.R. Martin’s lawn.”

You can watch the sketch below.
