Lucy Hale To Star In Another Riverdale Spin-Off ‘Katy Keene’

We’ve known for awhile that Riverdale was getting another spin-off, but it wasn’t known who would be playing the lead role. That is, until now.

It was announced yesterday that Lucy Hale had been cast as the titular character Katy Keene, in the next Riverdale spin-off series. Based on the Archie Comics character, Katy Keene follows the stories of four character, including that of Katy Keene, as they chase their dreams in New York City. Keene is a fashion-designer wannabe, while the others are trying to make it on the runway, on Broadway and in the recording studio. Camille Hyde, Lucien Laviscount, Ashleigh Murray, Jonny Beauchamp and Julia Chan had all been previously announced as being cast in roles.

Hale herself is best known for her role on Pretty Little Liars, where she played Aria Montgomery. She was also the star of the horror-flick Truth or Dare, which was released last year.

While Katy Keene is moving forward, it is just in the pilot stage of production and the series hasn’t been given the greenlight for a full production as of yet. Riverdale has been a hit on the CW since 2016, while it’s first spin-off, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, launched on Netflix last year and has already been renewed for a second season.

Jason Momoa Shaves Off Beard For A Good Cause

From Game of Thrones, to Aquaman and Frontier, Jason Momoa is front and centre, along with his iconic beard. The actor posted a video on Wednesday though, stating it was time for a change, and shaved for the camera. It wasn’t without a purpose though as one might initially think. The massive actor is trying to raise awareness for aluminum recycling.

“I just want to bring awareness that plastics are killing our planet, and I think I have a solution,” Momoa said in the video as he shaved. “I don’t wanna bitch about it, but there’s only one thing that can really help our planet and save our planet, as long as we recycle, and that’s aluminum.”

Momoa goes on to say he’s specifically talking about aluminum cans making a return to replace all the plastic bottles that are used these days. He states that aluminum can continue to be recycled, and that “75 percent of aluminum that’s ever been used is still in circulation today.” He backs himself up with stats too, so it’s not just him talking for the sake of talking. He also says that it only takes 60 days for aluminum cans to go from the recycling bin, to back on the shelves with a new beverage.

One of Momoa’s biggest pet peeves too, was not being able to find water available in aluminum cans. A new product seems to be on the way though to change that, but other than the fact that it will be coming from the Ball Corporation, not much else is known about it.

“There’s a change coming, and it’s aluminum,” Momoa said. “You gotta get rid of your plastic water bottles. Aquaman’s trying to do the best he can for my kids, for your kids, for the world. Love you guys.”

In case you were wondering, it’s been seven years since Momoa had shaved his beard off. He also said he won’t be shaving his head though, as his wife wouldn’t like that.

Billie Eilish’s Debut Album Set To Become The Second-Biggest Album Release of 2019

If you haven’t heard of Billie Eilish before, it’s pretty much a given you will be hearing a lot of her in the future. In the first full week of release, the teenage sensation’s debut album is expected to reach between 250,000 to 275,000 equivalent album units sold, which would make it the second-biggest release of the year.

Eilish’s “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?”, appears to be only trailing Ariana Grande’s “Thank U, Next” for the title of the biggest 2019 album debuts to date. The album itself has benefitted from strong streaming figures, but also traditional album purchases as well. That in itself is unusual considering Eilish’s fan base has grown up mainly just streaming music, and not buying physical albums. Even more unusual is the fact that 5 of the albums 14 tracks were also released before the album, which usually cuts back on album purchases, yet in this case it doesn’t seen to have affected the sales at all.

Eilish released her debut single, “Ocean Eyes” in 2016, and it quickly went viral and became a huge success. She released an EP in 2017, which was also a huge success. It September 2017 Apple named her as its newest Up Next artist.  In her short career, Eilish already has seven gold and two platinum singles.
